My Lil' Emma...

When I lost my Emma, I brought her home to be buried. I decided to plant an Oriental Lily for her on her grave. This beautiful lily has become so big and so beautiful...just like my little girl was! Pictured on the right is a bloom of her lily this year 2008. I wanted to share this picture on her page, because it is my little reminder of her. She was as rare and as beautiful to me as this lily! I miss you Emma!

I've experienced such a heartbreaking tragedy with the loss of my Emma. She was my very first baby out of my first litter of Himalayan kittens. I don't know why I chose her, to be quite honest, she chose me. She just wrapped her little paws around my heart and wouldn't let go, and she never will! I loved her gentle, quiet nature, her quirky behavior (like sleeping on her back and playing in her water bowl), and her tender spirit! I'll forever miss coming home and seeing her wait for me, the way she'd chase me when it was time to eat her favorite treat, her morning cuddles, looking at those beautiful blue eyes, and watching her "make bread" when she was happy! My life and my heart is forever missing a big piece of where my Emma filled it up with her whole being! I love her SO much and losing her has ripped my heart to pieces. I've never known the pain and heartache of losing a precious baby, and I truly understand the loss so many other people have endured.

Emma gave birth to her second litter on October 27th, 2006. After a round of infection, being spayed, and finally subcumbing to acute renal failure, she left me on November 18th, 2006, less than 1 month away from her December 14th birthday. She fought such a difficult battle, she was a warrior until finally her tender spirit was too tired to fight anymore. I guess God needed his own special little angel more than I did. As much as it hurts, I'm finally trying to accept that. My heart is forever touched and changed by the love and faithful companionship my Emma gave to me! I'll miss her forever!

To my little girl:  Mommy loves you so much and will never forget you! I'll always remember the ways in which you touched my heart!
